On-Site Vascular Lab

Our on-site vascular lab is accredited in accordance with the stringent standards of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories.

The non-invasive tests, including ultrasound, performed in our lab help determine the cause of symptoms like cold feet, unexplained pain or swelling in the legs or varicose and spider veins. We also screen for aortic aneurysm (AAA) or carotid artery disease, which can cause a stroke if left undetected.

Vein Testing

This exam involves scanning the entire leg or arm, investigating both deep and superficial systems. By checking the entire system, we can ensure competency of flow in the veins.

As part of the exam, we evaluate for:

• Deep and or Superficial Vein Thrombophlebitis (DVT)
• Venous insufficiency
• Incompetent perforators
• Symptomatic varicose veins

Arterial Testing

This exam involves finding pulses, comparing blood flow in different arteries, and establishing blood pressures and consistency of flow. An added exercise exam may help diagnose insufficiencies not seen while resting. Additionally, we perform an ultrasound to visualize the artery's interior.

As part of the exam, we evaluate for:

• Extremity peripheral arterial disease
• Arterial bypass grafts
• Post-surgical issues
• Abdominal aorta aneurysms (AAA)
• Renal arteries
• Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)
• Dialysis fistulas
• Claudication
• Raynaud's Syndrome

Carotid Artery and Other Extracranial Testing

This ultrasound exam can involve assessing a carotid, vertebral, or subclavian artery for any blood flow disturbance or plaque. (This exam may overlap with one of our standard health screenings.)

As part of the exam, we evaluate for:

• Cerebrovascular arterial disease
• Subclavian Steal Syndrome
• Post-surgical issues
• Masses, aneurysms, or injury of the carotid artery
