Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation at Erasers
Answers
To Your Questions About LPVI – Skin Rejuvenation
Laser treatment of Pigmented & Vascular Irregularities (LPVI)
is a revolutionary skin treatment using multiple laser wavelengths
to improve and enhance the appearance of the skin. It is most often
performed on the face and neck, but the chest, hands, arms and legs
can be treated as well.
What are the benefits?
The LPVI targets redness, skin discolorations & overall dullness
to brighten & renew the skin’s appearance while achieving a
smoothness & evenness to the skin’s tone & texture. LPVI
is ideal for eliminating a variety of problems including:
- Broken Capillaries
- Pigmentation Variance
- Rosacea
- Telangiectasias
- Age Spots / Sun Spots
- Freckles
- Flushing
- Fine Wrinkling
How does it work?
The light is attracted to pigmented areas, where it is converted
to heat, causing a breakup in the pigment. In the case of broken
capillaries, the “pigment” is the blood cells that are visible under
the skin. The light & heat irritate the lining of the targeted
vessels, causing inflammation & eventual destruction. Once destroyed,
the capillaries can no longer carry blood, and no longer appear
red. There is no harm in eliminating these vessels.
Your Erasers
medical professional will analyze your skin condition & help
you select the most effective treatment for you.
When will you see results?
Effects are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see
improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins & some
discoloration within a few days. Improvements to skin tone &
texture will be subtler & may take 1-3 months. Others may suggest
that you look more rested. However, with each subsequent treatment,
subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improved
appearance & texture you desire.
How often can you have it done?
A series of 5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, is our standard
recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for
certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance
treatments may be prescribed for optimal ongoing, lasting results.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness
&/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness usually
dissipates within 24 hours; however, darkened pigmentation may persist
and peel lightly for up to 1 week. Makeup can be applied to the
treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, tattoos may
be lightened & hair growth may be impaired in the treated area,
although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment.
It is extremely important to wear sun block & avoid sun exposure
on a daily basis to reduce any potential side effects.
How long does it take?
This treatment takes about 30-60 minutes. Prescribed topical anesthetics
should be applied 30-60 minutes before the treatment time, if needed.
