Microdermabrasion is a gentle, non-surgical exfoliating treatment helpful for those unhappy with:
- acne scarring
- sun-damaged skin
- age spots
- freckles
- stretch marks
- fine lines
- scars
- rough skin
- uneven skin color
- dry patches of skin
- clogged pores and blackheads
- large pores
It can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, elbows, and feet.
What is treatment like?
Microdermabrasion is performed with a stream of fine crystals which are delivered across the skin's surface and then removed via vacuum, leaving skin gently polished and revitalized. The treatment removes old and damaged skin cells and stimulates the production of new skin cells, resulting in a more youthful appearance. Beforehand, the area to be treated is cleansed; and afterwards, a moisturizer or sun block may be applied. All in all, the treatment lasts about half an hour. Most patients find the treatment very comfortable and relaxing.
What improvements can I expect for my skin?
Microdermabrasion accelerates the cellular turnover process, bringing you closer to healthier, younger-looking skin. As you receive more treatments, improvements in appearance and texture will become more pronounced. Microdermabrasion can be used aggressively to achieve dramatic results, but does not take the place of surgical or laser treatments.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required for optimal results ranges from three to twelve, typically scheduled three weeks apart. We can discuss the number of treatments that would suit you best in a consultation. The treatment includes a facial.
Who is eligible for microdermabrasion?
Just about everyone! We've given the treatment to men, women, and teens of all skin types, with great results.
Are there any side effects to microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is an exceptionally safe approach to skin care, both independently and in combination with other treatments. There is no down time after the procedure, and at most the treatment area may have a light blush immediately afterwards.
